Seeking an Adjunct geography instructor for spring semester
Our university is searching for someone to teach one course in World Regional Geography—at the 100-level—in spring 2014. We seek someone who is preferably ABD and can travel to Rockford, Illinois to teach the classes. The schedule still has some flexibility for the next few weeks, but will like be on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday cycle.
The class is usually 24-30 students. Here is the course description:
For students with no previous background in geography. After an
initial discussion of the earth as a planet, this problem-oriented
course will focus on the effect the physical environment in each
part of the world has had on local social, political, economic,
religious and historical developments. The course stresses the
ways environmental factors have helped shape human activity
(e.g. adaptations to marine, plain, mountain environments, etc.).
