Geography Club

Geography Club is for Geography major undergrads who want
to learn more about their field and about grad school. Get to know your
fellow undergrads with club socials like grill-outs and pizza. We also
publish the Madison Geographic,
a monthly newsletter about Geography at UW.
Meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Monday of every
month at 6:00 p.m. in the Student Lounge, 480-B Science Hall. Watch
for meeting notices. Meetings are open to everyone.

HERD
Human Environment Research and Debate-Discussion-Dialog. Bi-weekly lunch meetings for
presentations and reading discussions on all things Human-Environment related. All geography department

THUGS
THUGS (Theoretical, Human, and Urban Geography
Scholarship) is a discussion group consisting of grad students and
professors that meets weekly during the semester. Each session is
organized by a different grad student and the topics range from presentations
of current research projects to analyses of cutting edge theoretical
and methodological issues in human geography.
Meetings are held Fridays at 1:00 PM in the Hartshorne
Room of the Geography Library. Anyone is welcome to attend.
MACDAD
MACDAD is a discussion group that meets regularly
during the semester. Each session is organized by a different grad
student and covers most any topic on cartography, digital mapping,
geovisualization, or theory. MACDAD

the Hartshorne Room of the Geography Library or Room 450. Anyone
is welcome to attend.
PGIG
Physical Geography Interest Group (PGIG) meets on Mondays at noon in room
230 Science Hall. All are welcome. Please join us next Monday and

P.S. - There is a rack for graduate and faculty publications
on the wall near the geomorphology labs on the second floor. Feel
free to place reprints of your recent publications in the rack. It's
a great opportunity to show off your research and for everybody to see
the outstanding work done by members of our department.
