PUBLIC POOL ACTIVISTS MADISON, WISCONSIN |
Imagine growing up in a
town where you couldn’t enjoy a swim in hot summer months. Madison, a characteristically
progressive city does not offer any public swimming facilities. The city, surrounded by lakes has
several outdoor beaches, however, high bacteria levels have kept them
closed for most of the summer.
Additionally, there are exclusive PRIVATE facilities, but NOT A SINGLE PUBLIC POOL. |

Madison,
Wisconsin has always been a progressive city. However, the cities repeated refusal to
create a public pool, suggests Madison is slowly being controlled by an
elitist class. Low-income
families, children, students, and other lower income residents are offered
seaweed ridden beaches that are frequently closed due to high bacteria
levels. |
