What is GIS Day? GIS Day is an international day of education about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geography. More than 80
countries will participate in holding local events such as open houses, hands-on workshops, community expos, school assemblies,
and more.
GIS Day at the UW-Madison GIS Day at the UW will feature over 40 organizations from the private and public sectors who will demonstrate GIS applications and new technological innovations via exhibitor booths, presentations and a map gallery. There will also be a "Kid's Corner" this year with special interactive children's activities. In addition to the Expo, an introductory GIS workshop will be held on Friday, November 16th in Science Hall for university students and adult members of the general public. This is led by the Robinson Map Library in the Department of Geography.
