Global Studies is a research, training, and outreach program that fosters critical thinking across regional and disciplinary boundaries to better understand our increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. Founded in 1991 as a center for the study of peace, security, and international cooperation, Global Studies is the cross-regional, international partner of the seven area studies centers housed administratively in the International Institute. In 2003, Global Studies was awarded a Title VI National Resource Center Grant from the US Department of Education.
